Your baby is now about the size of an avocado (about 5 inches / 11.6 centimetres long from crown to rump and weighing approximately 4 ounces / 100 grams). In the next three weeks he’ll go through a tremendous growth spurt, doubling his weight and adding inches to his length.
In or out of the womb, [...]

And all of a sudden it’s been 4 months since we found out? I seriously don’t understand how time has flown by, although that is most definitely a good thing (for both of us). The baby is still healthy and strong, and obviously growing on-schedule. I believe my wife has indeed hit the “I’m so [...]
Midwife #2
Posted in Little heartbeat, Second Trimester on November 24, 2008 | 1 Comment »
Today we had the second monthly visit to the midwife’s office. Everything went well, except for some unexpected tummy-hurt throughout the morning. We had the privilege of seeing Jenny Joseph, the founder of The Birth Place (where we go). She was great, and she was able to find…

During pregnancy week 15 specifically your baby is working hard to grow blood vessels. During pregnancy week 15 and beyond a fine substance called lanugo begins to cover your baby’s body, except for her palms, soles of her feet, lips, genitals and nails. Most babies will have lanugo until roughly the eighth month of pregnancy [...]
I’m Beginning to See a Pattern Here

And I’m not referring to the oodles of various and sundry fabric baby items we have festooned throughout the house. What I am referring to is the fact that we seem to somehow always make it back to the hospital, with the standard two bags of lactated ringer’s fluid (dehydration could be considered a sub-pattern [...]

Jeans = No Mas

So I thought I would be so kind as to let all of you know that my wife’s jeans as she knows them no longer have the ability to contain her ever-expanding baby bump (which is slowly turning into more of a bulge). Her maternity pants and shorts are of course coming in handy, and [...]

I made it! And I can safety say that I haven’t pukies in such a long time. I haven’t felt this good since, well before I was pregnant. If it weren’t for the tummy I would actually still wonder if I was pregnant. Last night I had my first labor & delivery dream. I was [...]

We love presents! We love them so much that we’ve started having photo shoots to showcase them! I decided to get a little creative and exhibit just how manly and awesome I can be in Dad Mode. Of course, I wanted to show that I am sensitive to the fact that my epic disposition might [...]
What have we been up to lately?

Since Florida is a horrible place to settle into the Christmas mood, we spiced up our place with decorations, candles and Christmas music. We absolutely love it. I woke up the other morning and said “Merry Christmas! Let’s go open our presents…”, that’s how into we are. The music goes just about 24/7 and our [...]

I love to cuddle up to anything baby related, especially when its been purchased at bargain prices. Mammasan and P-Daddy went thrift shopping and sent me blankets, bibs and tons of washcloths for their future grandson or granddaughter. I am excited to get them clean and in the baby drawers.

My favorite two patterns are black/white damask and polka dots. So, I was so excited to see this come in the mail today from Cousin Uncle Jeanne. I just love it! It will fit with the babies decor perfectly.

An Update of Sorts

It’s ok, we’re both still alive. In fact, I guess it’s safe to say that the less you hear from us the better things are. I don’t want to drop completely off the map, though, so I figured I’d post a bit of an update.
Jess has been feeling much better the past week; she’s been [...]

I was so excited to see my Johnson & Johnson’s bath set come in the mail today, I just love the way the shampoo smells. Now I get to smell baby smell anytime I want to ; ). We also received a swaddle or an infant wrap that I had also registered for. Those things [...]
My Baby at Thirteen Weeks

By pregnancy week 13 your baby is taking on a whole new shape! You would now recognize your little bean as a miniature but fully formed looking baby if you were to peer into your belly with a microscope. Your baby is actually quite large by now, a whopping 3 inches long in some cases [...]

Third Time’s A Charm?
Posted in First Trimester, Ultrasounds on November 2, 2008 | 2 Comments »
Ok, I know it’s only been two days, but we were at the hospital today. Again. After our last visit hardly did anything (read: nothing) to combat her nausea, and fairly unrelenting “pukies” throughout the night and into this morning, we decided to return yet again. Only this time we took the midwife’s recommendation to [...]
