So, I’ve been experiencing a very odd phenomenon lately. It’s manifested itself in many ways, enough to make me suspect that pregnancy is in fact contageous. My wife has a rather ritualistic routine of making two trips to the bathroom in rapid succession before she goes to bed, goes out, etc. They are spaced about 3-5 minutes apart, and ususally come before and after either getting ready for bed (brushing teeth, etc.) or preparing to leave.
Just the other day, I was on my way to class. I went to the bathroom, gathered my “pocketstuffs”, put my backpack on, kissed the wife goodbye, and walked out the door. I immediately turned around, came back inside, and quickly mumbled as I passed Jess, “gotta pee…”
As soon as the words left my mouth, I stopped dead in my tracks, turned to Jess without saying a word and looked right at her. She instantly burst in to borderline uncontrollable laughter, rolling from side to side on the couch at the realization that I had, for but a brief moment, become her. I responded in kind (and then proceeded to the bathroom). I can only hope that I don’t also begin to show.
